01 Who this covers
This website, clairesancelot.com, is operated by Claire Sancelot, who acts as the data controller for any personal information collected here. Claire operates from France; this policy is written to meet the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) where it applies.
02 What is collected
The enquiry form collects the details you type into it: your name, email address, your message, and any event, institution or company details you choose to share. That is all. There is no account system, no newsletter list, and no tracking pixel.
A hidden anti-spam field filters automated submissions; it collects nothing from people.
03 Why, and on what basis
Form data is used for exactly one purpose: replying to your enquiry and, if a booking follows, arranging it. The lawful basis is legitimate interest in responding to correspondence you initiate and, once an engagement is being arranged, steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
04 Where it goes
Submissions are delivered to Claire’s email inbox and live nowhere else. They are not sold, shared, rented or added to any marketing list. The site itself is served as static files from a hosting provider’s content delivery network; the host processes standard server logs (IP address, request time) to deliver the site securely.
05 Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies. If analytics are enabled, they are cookieless, aggregate page-view counts that identify no one, which is why you did not see a consent banner.
06 How long it is kept
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as the correspondence is live, and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping. You can ask for yours to be deleted at any time.
07 Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to the personal data held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to its processing, ask for it in a portable format, and complain to a supervisory authority; in France, that is the CNIL. Under the CCPA, California residents may request disclosure or deletion of personal information, and will never find it sold, because it never is.
To exercise any of these, email sancelotclaire@gmail.com. Requests get the same prompt, personal reply as everything else on this site.
